Wednesday, October 11, 2017

Sacramento – Senate Bill 510 by State Senator Jeff Stone (R-Riverside County) was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown.

The bill repeals an outdated statue in order to allow compound pharmacists to do their job more efficiently while protecting patient safety and permitting more effective dispensing of compounded pharmaceutical products.

“This issue was brought to my attention by the California State Board of Pharmacy,” said Senator Stone, himself a licensed pharmacist and pharmacy owner. “I’m glad Governor Brown understood the need to update this outdated law.”

The new law goes into effect on January 1, 2018.
